Dorothy Keller Stauffer, 88, of Manheim & Earlysville, VA., died peacefully surrounded by her daughters, and went home to meet her Lord following a courageous battle with cancer on Monday, November 3, 2014 at Hospice and Community Care, Mount Joy. Born in Penn Township, she was the daughter of the late, Elmer and Lottie Graybill Hess. Dorothy was the wife of J. Lester Stauffer of Manheim; her first husband was the late J. Richard Keller who died in November 4, 1998. She worked for Hilltop Acres Farm Market, in Manheim; previously she was employed in the food service department at the School District in Virginia, and for the Manheim Auto Auction. She was a member of White Oak Church of the Brethren, Manheim. In her early years she helped her first husband for over 21 years in his ministry in Earlysville, Virginia. Dorothy had a servant’s heart, and had a passion for helping people quietly and with hospitality and care.
Surviving in addition to her husband, are three daughters: Cordy wife of Nevin Hosler, Connie wife of Caleb Lee Kreider, Dawn Bollinger all of Manheim, eight grandchildren, twenty-six great grandchildren, three step-daughters: Judy wife of Ken Weaver of Lititz, Carol wife of Larry Rohrer of Manheim, Marilyn wife of Mark Zimmerman of Manheim, two sisters, Arlene Hershey of Lancaster, Bernice wife of Paul Groff of Manheim and a brother, J. Wilbur husband of Barb Hess of Manheim. Preceding her in death is an infant son, a granddaughter, Christy Joy Hosler, a son-in-law, Glenn Bollinger, and a sister, Marian Minnich.
The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff at Hospice and Community Care, Mount Joy, for the loving care their mother received during her home going.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her funeral service at the White Oak Church of the Brethren, 1211 North Penryn Road, Manheim, on Saturday, November 8, 2014 at 11:00 AM. There will be a viewing at the church on Friday evening from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM with additional viewing on Saturday morning from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. Interment will be in Graybills Brethren Cemetery, Elm.
