Dorothy Joan Ariosto, 89, formerly of Ocala FL, died peacefully on Thursday October 5, 2017 at Masonic Village, Elizabethtown PA. She was the wife of James J. Ariosto and they would have celebrated 66 years of marriage on 27th of October. Born in Bronx, NY she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Loretta (Keating) Treadwell. Dorothy was mostly a homemaker, but she was employed for a few years by Reader’s Digest, of Pleasantville, NY.
Surviving in addition to her husband are three sons Thomas Ariosto, Hanover MD, David husband of Shelley Ariosto, Montgomery NY, James Ariosto, Naugatuck, CT; two daughters Mary wife of Richard Coe, Slingerlands NY, Linda wife of Charles Carta, Grafton VT; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a sister Irene Ariosto, Stroudsburg PA. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother Richard Treadwell, and three sisters Barbara Metz, Marjorie Cooper, and Lucille Treadwell.
Private services and interment for family will be at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA. Contributions in Dorothy’s memory may be sent to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, PO Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis TN 38101-9908. Buch Funeral Home, Mount Joy PA is in charge of arrangements.
