Dorothea D. "Dot" Gochnauer

Dorothea D. “Dot” Gochnauer, 74, of Landisville passed away on Monday, December 11, 2017 at UPMC Pinnacle, Lititz. Born in Manheim, she was the daughter of the late James S. and Marguerite Donten Ditzler. She was the loving wife of Donald H. Gochnauer and they would have celebrated their 35th wedding anniversary in April and the late Harry E. Hammer who died in 1982. Dot was a 1961 graduate of Manheim High School. In her earlier years, she worked as a manager at Stowaway Storage, Lancaster. Dot also worked part-time at the Manheim Auto Auction. She was a member of Trinity Evangelical Congregational Church, Manheim. Dot enjoyed antiques, her cats and she loved to spend time with her family.

Surviving in addition to her husband, are two children, Neal husband of Brynn Hammer of Manheim, Brenda wife of Dennis Gochenaur of Landisville, two step-children, Lynn wife of Randy Neff of Manheim and Lisa Gochnauer of Lancaster, nine grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, a brother, George Ditzler of Florida and a sister, Barbara Graybeal of Manheim.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Paul and Carl Hammer and a daughter, Barbara Hammer.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her funeral service at the Buch Funeral Home, 21 Market Square, Manheim on Thursday, December 14, 2017 at 6:00 PM. There will be a viewing from 5:00 PM until the time of service. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may send contributions in Dot’s memory to Furever Home Adoption Center, 5984 Main Street, East Petersburg, PA 17520.
