Doris M. “Dobbie” Hummel Shaud, 77, of Palmyra, formerly of Elizabethtown, died peacefully on Friday July 12, 2013 at Hospice & Community Care, Mount Joy. Born in Marietta, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Sara (Myers) Hummel. Doris was a processing clerk at Donnelly Clipper Ship of Lancaster, and previously she was employed by M&M Mars of Elizabethtown. Doris graduated with the last class of the former Marietta High School and attended Millersville State Teachers College. She attended LCBC-Manheim campus where she was active with Guest Services and instrumental in forming the Focus Group. Doris loved the outdoors and was active in motorcycling, bicycling, kayaking, cross country skiing, and she enjoyed dancing, traveling, and reading.
Doris’ adventurous spirit and zest for life will be lovingly missed by her daughter Wenona K. wife of Bennett E. “Benn” Moul of Landisville; four grandchildren Joshua (Sonia) Moul, Forrest Moul, Heather (Tim) Kitching and Shanice Moul; three great- grandchildren Hayley, Jade, and Felix; sisters Janet Marley and Mary Ellen Hummel both of Elizabethtown; and a brother Charles Hummel of Illinois. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a son Fredric A. Shaud, and a sister Freda Hummel.
