Doris E. Hamilton, 85, of Salunga, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Saturday November 17, 2012 at the Masonic Health Care Center, Elizabethtown. She was the widow of the late Carl R. Hamilton who died in 2004. Born in Lock Haven, PA she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Edna (Kephart) Elder. Doris retired as a machine operator for the Pfizer Corporation of Lititz after 30 years of service. Doris was an active member of Chiques United Methodist Church in Mount Joy, where she was a member of the United Methodist women, a communion steward for many years, helping with the annual church bazaar, and the Chiques Red Hat Divas. She was also a member of the James Buchanan chapter O.E.S. of Lancaster, and in her spare time she enjoyed ceramics, water therapy, reading, and snowmobiling. Surviving is a daughter Sherry A. wife of Larry Griest of Salunga; two grandsons Chadd husband of Kari Griest, Christopher husband of Nicole Griest; three great-grandchildren Cooper, Chloe, and Brodie Griest; a brother Russell husband of Louise Elder of Panama City Beach, FL; and a sister Ginger wife of Paul Kitner of Panama City Beach, FL. In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by a brother Jim Elder. Relative and friends are respectfully invited to attend her Memorial Service at Chiques United Methodist Church, 1215 E. Main Street, Mount Joy PA on Sunday November 25, 2012 at 3:00 P.M. Interment in Salunga Mennonite Cemetery will be private. There will be a time of visitation with the family immediately following the service in the church fellowship hall.
