Donna L. Rhodes

Donna L. Rhodes, 75, of Manheim, died peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Sunday, January 21, 2024. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Harry “Jim” and Reba Witman Reppert. Donna was the loving wife of the late Richard R. “Butch” Rhodes Jr. who died in February 2008 following 40 years of marriage. For many years Donna was the Director of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church Nursery School, Manheim. She was an active and faithful member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church serving on Church Council, with Daughters of Zion and other committees. Throughout her life Donna was deeply involved with Scouting, from her early start as a Brownie Girl Scout, to being a Den Mother, Pack and Troop Leader and Committee Chair for Troop 47 Manheim for decades.  Pennsylvania Dutch Council of Boy Scouts of America awarded Donna the Silver Beaver Award for her continued faithful leadership and contributions to Scouting in the Manheim and Lancaster County area. In 2011 Donna also received the Service to Mankind Award from Sertoma Club in Manheim; for her untiring volunteering to scouts and community groups including serving on the board for the Manheim Community Library. Donna enjoyed watching NASCAR races and spending cherished time with her family that she deeply loved. She had a community spirit of giving, and a genuine desire to instill positive leadership qualities to the children in her community. 

   Surviving are two sons: Brandy L. Rhodes companion of Tina Geib of Manheim, Corby S. husband of Kimberly Rhodes of Manheim, seven grandchildren: Jarrid, Austin husband of Alyssa, Seth, Sarah, Joey, Gavyn, Noah, one great grandchild on the way; two sisters: Gail wife of Jim Phillips of Royersford, Terri wife of Denny Enck of Manheim, and a brother, Scot husband of Susan Reppert of Manheim. 

   Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Donna’s Celebration of Life Service at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2 South Hazel Street, Manheim, on Saturday, February, 10, 2024 at 11:00 AM. Friends may visit with the family at the church on Saturday, February 10, 2024 from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. Interment will be private in Conestoga Memorial Park, Lancaster. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may send contributions in Donna's memory to Boy Scout Troop 47, c/o: Courtney Winters, Treasurer, 739 White Oak Road, Manheim, PA 17545 (Check payable to Troop 47) to help fund students to attend scout camp.
