Donna Marie Simpson, 70, of Manheim passed away on Thursday, November 17, 2016, at Lancaster General Hospital after a long courageous battle with cancer. Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late John T. and Florence Sloan Simpson. Donna was always a high energy person who enjoyed life, family, friends and work. After graduating from Ocean City High School she worked for the FBI for seventeen years, then joined CoreStates Bank where she worked in their Security Department for many years prior to joining McKesson Corporation, where she retired from in 2012.
Donna was a member of St. Richard Catholic Church, Manheim where she was in the choir and a Eucharistic Minister. She volunteered as an EMT for the Manheim Ambulance Association for over twenty years and the Lancaster General Hospital. Donna was also a member of the Manheim Lions Club. Her interests included gardening, traveling to the beach and spending time with her family and friends. She is predeceased by her brother-in-law, Francis Ward.
Surviving are three siblings, Dolores Ward of Drexel Hill, Jacqueline Caroccio (Robert) of Ocean City, NJ, And John C. Simpson (Dorothy) of Virginia Beach, VA; 12 nieces and nephews, 32 great nieces and nephews and 2 great great nieces.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Richard Catholic Church, 110 North Oak Street, Manheim on Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at 11:00 AM. There will be a public viewing from 10:00 AM until the time of Mass.
Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may send contributions in Donna's memory to the American Cancer Society, 314 Good Drive, Lancaster, PA 17603.
