Donald Ray "Donnie" White

  Donnie White, 84, of Manheim, went to be with the Lord on February 6, 2025, in the home where he was born, surrounded by his family. He is survived by his devoted wife of 65 years, Sarah K. Young White; their children: Kathy (Fred) Bowman, Kerry White, Beth McGrath, Timothy White, and Bradley White; his siblings, Kenny White and Nancy Beltz. He was “Gramps” to eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. He also cherished the close friendship of neighbors Matt and Denise Leber and their children, whom he considered family.

   A U.S. Army veteran, Donnie carried the values of dedication and hard work into everything he did. For 13 years, he served as Scoutmaster for Boy Scout Troop 96 in Neffsville, mentoring countless young men and guiding many to Eagle Scout. His love for the outdoors shaped his life—gardening, hunting, fishing, and woodworking weren’t just pastimes but ways he connected with family, passing down both skills and stories. Around the campfire, his voice rose in song, laughter echoing under the stars, turning simple moments into cherished memories.

   Above all, Donnie’s greatest joy was his family. He led not with words but by example—demonstrating hard work, faith, and unconditional love. Through every season of life, his deepest devotion was to Sarah, his loving wife and partner of 65 years, whose steadfast companionship was the heart of their home. He found joy in life’s simplest moments, knowing that love, faith, and family were the true markers of a life well lived. 

   Though he is gone, his legacy lives on through his family, in the lessons he taught, the values he instilled, and the love he shared. "Well done, good and faithful servant." – Matthew 25:23

  Friends are invited to join Donnie's family at Buch Funeral Home, 21 Market Square, Manheim, on Saturday, February 22, 2025. A viewing will be held at 1:00 PM, followed by a celebration of life at 2:00 PM. Interment will follow at Hernley Mennonite Cemetery.
