Donald P. Greiner

March 31, 1938 — February 6, 2010

Donald P. Greiner, 71, of 2406 Hill Top Road Manheim, died Saturday, February 6, 2010 at Hospice of Lancaster County Mount Joy following a long illness. Born in Rapho Township, he was the son of the late Paul and Grace Miller Greiner. Don retired from Armstrong World Industries Lancaster Plant working there for over eleven years; previously he was employed at the former Raymark Industries Manheim for over twenty-seven years. Don served in the United States Marine Corps for six years. He was the loving husband of Shirley Miller Greiner and they observed their 45th wedding anniversary in May of 2009.

Don was a member of Ruhls United Methodist Church Manheim. He had a life long passion for fishing. In his early years Don enjoyed fly-fishing for trout in streams through out Pennsylvania and later enjoyed bass fishing. His other interests included hunting in Perry County and building birdhouses.

Surviving in addition to his wife is a son, Jeffrey S. husband of Cheryl L. Becker Greiner of Manheim, a daughter, Donna Ann Greiner companion of James Vulgan of Boothwyn, PA., two grandchildren: Kayla and Gregory Greiner, a great grandson, Aadyn Clinger, two brothers: Chester husband of Phyllis Greiner and John Greiner companion of Rusty all of Manheim. Preceding him in death are two brothers: Robert and Jeremiah Greiner.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his memorial service from the Ruhls United Methodist Church 4810 Elizabethtown Road Manheim on Friday, February 12, 2010 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Rob Timlin officiating. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family in the adjoining church cemetery. Friends may visit with the family at the church on Friday afternoon from 1:30 PM until the time of the service.
