Donald H. "Don" Becker

Donald H. “Don” Becker, 89, formerly of Elizabethtown Road, Manheim passed away on Thursday, December 24, 2015 at Evergreen Estates Retirement Community, Lancaster. Born in Rapho Township, he was the son of the late Michael S. and Estella Shreiner Becker. He was the loving husband of the late Jean Givler Becker who died in 2010. Retired in 1988, Don worked at the former Raymark Industries, Manheim for 36 years. He proudly served in the United States Army during WW II at the Sugamo-Prison in the South Pacific and he received several medals and ribbons. Don was a member of Hope Episcopal Church, Manheim where he served as an usher. He was also a lifetime member of Big Chiques Archery Club, Elstonville Sportsmen Association, Manheim VFW Post 5956 and Milton Grove Sportsman Club. An avid hunter and fisherman, he also enjoyed searching for mushrooms.
Surviving is a son, Donald E. husband of Charlotte Stauffer Becker of Conestoga, two grandchildren, Jason and Crystal, three step grandchildren, Camila, Joshua, Nathan, four great grandchildren and four step great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and Joseph Becker and a half-brother, Heber Becker
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his funeral service at the Buch Funeral Home, 21 Market Square, Manheim on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at 7:00 PM. There will be a public viewing at the funeral home from 6:00 PM until the time of service. Interment at Ruhl’s United Methodist Cemetery, 4810 Elizabethtown Road, Manheim on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at 11:30 AM with military honors. Following the interment service, friends may join the family at 1:00 PM for light refreshments and fellowship at Evergreen Estates. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may send contributions in Don’s memory to Evergreen Estates Retirement Community, 1300 East King Street, Lancaster, PA 17602.
