Donald E. “Don” Witmyer, 87, of Lititz and formerly of Manheim went home to be with his Lord on Tuesday, August 4, 2015 at Heart of Lancaster Regional Medical Center, Lititz. Born in Manheim, he was the son of the late Lloyd E. and Mary E. Young Witmyer. He was the husband of Shirley R. Rudegeair Witmyer of Lititz and his first wife the late Constance F. Smith Witmyer who died in 1985. Don retired from the former Raymark Industries, Manheim. He graduated from Manheim Central High School in 1945 and proudly served in the United States Army. Don was a member of Hope United Methodist Church, Akron and a former member of Salem United Methodist Church, Manheim. He was also a former member of the Manheim Lions Club. His interests included hunting, bowling, gardening and the Jersey Shore.
Surviving in addition to his wife is a daughter, Cynthia F. wife of Sergio Ortega of Manheim, a son, John H. Witmyer of State College, four stepchildren, Ruthanne E. wife of Justin Grabrowski of Yorktown, VA, Robert B. Gray of Halethorpe, MD, David P. Gray of Lititz, Rebecca J. wife of William Kaelin of North Wales, two grandchildren, Adriana and Alejandro Ortega, six step grandchildren, Beverly Neuman, Kyle Gray, Timothy and Jeffrey Grabrowski, Brian and Sarah Kaelin and four step great grandsons. He was preceded in death by a brother Dale E. Witmyer and a sister, Helen A. Witmyer.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his funeral service at the Buch Funeral Home, 21 Market Square, Manheim on Saturday, August 8, 2015 at 11:00 AM. There will be a public viewing at the funeral home from 10:30 AM until the time of service. Interment in Manheim Fairview Cemetery, Penn Township.
