Donald C. Coble, 88, of Lititz, died peacefully on Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at Moravian Manor. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Paul and Alverta Mowrer Coble. Don was the loving husband of the late Doris Bradshaw Coble who died in January of 2008. In 1990 Don retired from the Tasty Baking Company, Philadelphia, (Tastykake) where he worked as a district manager. Earlier in his career he was a stone mason for many years. Don served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II and the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a 1947 graduate of Lititz High School and graduated from Northrop Aviation School of California. Don was a member of the Hemlock Hunting Lodge in Sullivan County, the Lititz American Legion and V.F.W.; a member and past president of the Warwick Ambulance Association, and an active member with Lititz AMBUCS. He was also a member and Past Master of the Manheim Masonic Lodge 587. Don is now reunited with his beloved Bichon dog named Precious.
Surviving are two sons: Gary D. husband of Peggy Coble of Akron, Dale husband of Victoria Coble of East Petersburg, a daughter, Cheryl Templeton of Lititz, six grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Preceding him in death is a brother Paul Coble.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Don’s life celebration at the Buch Funeral Home, 216 South Broad Street, Lititz, on Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at 4:00 PM. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home on Wednesday afternoon from 3:00 PM until the time of the service. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
