Dixie L. Bush

Dixie L. Bush, 54, of Manheim, died on Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at her home. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of James Whittemore Sr. of Manheim, and Barbara Schaeffer Whittemore of Manheim. A homemaker, she was the loving wife of Dennis J. Bush and they celebrated a life together for 32 years. Her first husband was the late Dennis Randal Nichols. Dixie’s interests included: cooking, flower gardening, and animals. Her life-long passion was her family and she enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Surviving in addition to her husband and parents, are three daughters: Mandy J. wife of Charles Flowers, Amber Nichols, Emily E. Bush all of Manheim, two grandsons: Gabriel Sapp, Malcolm Schock, and seven additional grandchildren. Preceding her in death is a grandson, Gage Randal Sapp, and a sister, Vicky Schaeffer.

Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Contributions may be sent in Dixie’s memory to the Humane League of Lancaster County, 2195 Lincoln Highway East, Lancaster, PA 17602.
