Diane Lynn Taft Parshall Dickson, 68, of Lititz, died peacefully on Thursday, October 20, 2016 at Conestoga View, Lancaster. Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Albert W. and Dorothy Herr Taft. Diane graduated from West Chester University and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Music Education. She was a music teacher for the Unionville School District. Diane also served as a choir director and soloist for area churches. She loved her cats and had a soft heart for animals. Diane was a member of the Gilbert & Sullivan Society of Chester County. For many years she worked as a lighting technician for various theater productions in Chester County. Diane was an avid life-long reader, and also had a passion for Biblical Archaeology Review.
Surviving is a daughter, Katie wife of Nathan Sumner of Lititz, two grandsons: Drake and Finn Sumner, and a brother, Richard Taft and wife Jan of Florence, Kentucky.
The family would like to thank all the staff at Conestoga View for the compassionate and loving care Diane received during her residence there.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Diane’s funeral service at the Buch-Heisey Funeral Home, 216 South Broad Street, Lititz, on Friday, October 28, 2016 at 1:30 PM. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home on Friday afternoon from 1:00 PM until the time of the service. Interment will be in Lititz Moravian Cemetery.
