Delmar L. Landis

Delmar L. Landis, 55, of Fruitville Pike, Lititz passed away at home on Friday, July 22, 2011 following a lengthy illness. Born in Manheim Township, he was the son of Helen Watson Landis of Lititz and the late Dale L. Landis. Delmar was married to Roxanne Randle Landis. Surviving in addition to his wife and mother is a son, Christoper K. husband of Elyzabeth Janik Landis of Mountville and their children, Avery and Delaney: two daughters, Ambre R. wife of Jason Sauter of Middleton and their son Phoenix, Tanya wife of Shawn Steinbacher of Danville and their sons, Tylor and Garret: a brother, Lowell husband of Linda of Manheim and their son, Michael, a sister, Eileen wife of Ken Ostberg of Manheim and their children, Doug, Daryl, Matt and Megan, his 1973 Z-28 Camaro, his great friend Ross and a multitude of other friends too numerous to mention. Delmar worked as a millwright for Armstrong World Industries, Lancaster for thirty-five years. Delmar graduated from Manheim Township in 1974. He was a member of the Draft Horse and Mule Association, International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAMAW) and a Master Gardener. Delmar loved spending time with his Grandchildren, woodworking and he was an avid Penn State Football fan. Del was a proud builder of four Grand Champion Lititz Baby Parade Floats. He also enjoyed raising Belgians on his family homestead, DDL Farm. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his memorial service at Hempfield Church of the Brethren, corner of Stevens Street and Metzler Road, East Petersburg on Sunday, July 31, 2011 at 2:00 PM with Pastor John Layman officiating. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. Please note: informal dress or Penn State attire is welcome for the service. Please omit flowers.
