Deanna “Dee” Foster, 85, of New Holland, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, died peacefully surrounded by her family on Sunday, January 28, 2024 at Garden Spot Village. Born June 8, 1938 in Trenton, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Stanley F. Kulesky and Doris Brian Sipler. Dee was the loving wife of the late Reverend Dr. W. Richard “Dick” Foster, Jr who died in August 2018 following 53 years of marriage. Dee graduated from Trenton Central High School and continued her education receiving a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Westminster College in New Wilmington, and a master’s degree in Education from Chestnut Hill College, Philadelphia. For many years Dee was a kindergarten teacher for Phil-Mont Christian Academy, Philadelphia; and later taught at the Diamond Street Early Childhood Center, Akron. When she retired from teaching she worked part-time at Coldwater Creek. She and her husband enjoyed traveling around the world and gardening. Dee had a genuine love and passion for teaching and working with children of all ages; and especially loved time with her grandchildren.
Surviving are two sons: David J. husband of Jody Foster of Lancaster, Daniel J. Foster of Loris, SC, a daughter-in-law, Kristine Foster of Ephrata, six grandchildren: Samantha wife of Alex Mayer, Andrew, Jonathan, Melissa, Brandon, and Kirei Foster.
Services for Dee will be private and at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent in Dee’s memory to: Garden Spot Village Benevolent Fund, 433 South Kinzer Avenue, New Holland, PA 17557.
