David R. Gainer

David R. Gainer, 68, of Manheim, died peacefully, with his loving wife by his side, on Friday April 19, 2019 at Hospice & Community Care, Mount Joy. He was the loving husband of Jane (Royer) Gainer and they celebrated 48 years of marriage last September. Born in Lancaster he is the son of Robert A. “Bob” Gainer, Neffsville, and the late Hope M. (Hoehn) Gainer. David was a retired electrician and he was also employed at the Manheim Auto Auction. David was an active member of Lititz United Methodist Church where he played guitar in the contemporary band. He was also a member of the Lancaster Bent Riders Club. His hobbies included camping, tricycling, and playing the guitar.

Surviving in addition to his wife and father are two daughters, Stacy wife of Stephen Bates, Lititz, Nicole wife of Sean Colfer, Ephrata; two granddaughters Madelynne wife of Trent Martin; Cheyanne Gainer; three brothers Michael Gainer, Jeffrey Gainer, and Robin Gainer. He loved his loyal buddy and rescue dog, “Benji”.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his funeral service at the Buch Funeral Home, 21 Market Square, Manheim, on Wednesday April 24, 2019 at 11:00 AM. Interment will be in Conestoga Memorial Park, Lancaster. There will be a time of viewing and visitation with the family on Wednesday at the funeral home from 10:00 AM until the time of the service.
