David E. Fisher, 71, of Salunga, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, October 19, 2024. Born in East Donegal Township, he was the son of the late John K. and Marie C. Ruhl Fisher. He was the loving husband of Mary Ann Shelly Fisher and they observed their 40th wedding anniversary this month. David was a machinist for Bearon Corp. of Mount Joy. He was a 1971 graduate of Warwick High School and a member of Hempfield Church of the Brethren. David enjoyed spending time with his friends and family, especially his grandchildren. He was fond of reading biographies, playing cards, and joyriding around Lancaster County.
Surviving in addition to his wife is a son, Jared D. (Leah) Fisher of Carlisle, three daughters, MaryBeth (Brett) Greene of Pittsburgh, Sarah R. (Michael) Nardi of Camp Hill and Lydia M. Fisher of Salunga, two grandchildren, Rowan and Holland and two siblings, Allen (Lois) Fisher and Doris Heffner. He was preceded in death by a sister, M. Fern Fisher.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend David’s Funeral Service at Hempfield Church of the Brethren, corner of Stevens Street and Metzler Road, East Petersburg on Thursday, October 24, 2024 at 11:00 AM. Friends may visit with the family at the church on Thursday morning from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Interment in Manheim Fairview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may send contributions in David’s memory to Hempfield Church of the Brethren, P.O. Box 246, East Petersburg, PA 17520 or Hospice & Community Care, P.O. Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604-4125.
