David Eugene Bowser, 70, of Lancaster, died in the loving and supportive company of his family on Monday, January 7, 2013 due to complications from leukemia. Born in Lexington, KY, he was the son of Esther (Werner) Bowser of Elkton, MD, and the late Childs Bowser. David, an Engineer by training, was known for his numerous and varied talents. In addition to being an entrepreneur with a successful career encompassing technology, marketing, and management, he was an accomplished woodworker and carpenter with many hobbies and interests. He had a lifelong passion for the outdoors, including fly fishing, kayaking, hiking, camping, and mountain biking. He was an artist with a talent for drawing and watercolor painting. He had an encyclopedic knowledge of many subjects and an ability to conquer any new challenge he met. David was a dedicated, multitalented, and professional worker who started his career at the former RCA Corp. of Lancaster, where he served as Marketing Manager. He was later a co-founder and VP of Cardinal Technologies; and co-founder and VP of Cyber Warehouse, Inc.; both of Lancaster. In his later years, he was a consultant for TE Wire & Cable, LLC, Saddlebrook, NJ. David received a BS in Electrical Engineering from the Indiana Institute of Technology and an MS in Engineering Science from Penn State University. He was a member of Sigma Phi Delta, a fraternity of Engineers. He was a creative thinker and inventor who held US Patent #3,976,875 (Photodetector Filter Structure). He was the husband of the late Stefani Lee (Kreiselmeyer) Bowser, who died in 1985. Surviving is a daughter, Shannon L. Bowser of Brooklyn, NY; a son, Andrew D. Bowser, husband of Corinna (Kroetsch) Bowser, and two granddaughters, Isabel and Nina, all of Narberth, PA; a brother, John Henry Bowser of Hilltop Lakes, Texas; and two sisters: Barbara Johnston of Elkton, MD, and Suzanne Skrypek of Dallas, PA. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend David's memorial service at the Buch Funeral Home, 21 Market Square, Manheim on Thursday, January 17, 2013 at 5:30 PM. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home on Thursday afternoon from 4:30 PM until the time of the service. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery, Neffsville.
