Darlene J. Hummer

Darlene J. Hummer, 77, formerly of Mount Joy, died peacefully on Sunday, July 18, 2010 at Conestoga View, Lancaster.
Born in Manheim, she was the daughter of the late Leroy Sr. and Edith Waughtel Seidel. Following retirement, Darlene worked for the Elizabethtown Area Senior Center; previously she retired from the former Ames/ Hills Department Stores, Lancaster.She also was previouslyemployed at Wood Stream Corporation of Lititz. Darlene was a 1950 graduate of Manheim High School. Her interests included: reading, watching classic movies, and word puzzles. Sheespecially enjoyed spending time with all of her family andwith her friends at the Senior Center.
Surviving are three daughters: LuAnn wife of Anthony Cicero of Denver, PA., Deborah L. Webster of Manheim, Barbara S. wife of Richard Meier Jr. of Elizabethtown, a son, Robert S. Hummer of Mount Joy, six grandchildren, and five great grandchildren. Preceding her in death is a grandson, Andrew Meier, two brothers: Robert and Leroy Seidel Jr. and a sister, Shirley White.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited attendher funeral service at the BuchFuneral Home, 21 Market Square, Manheim, on Monday, July 26, 2010 at 11:00 AM. Interment will be private in Manheim Fairview Cemetery, Penn Township. There will be a public viewing at the funeral home on Sunday evening from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM with additional viewing on Monday morning from 10:00 AM until the time of the service.
In Lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Darlenes memory to the Elizabethtown Area Senior Center 70 South Poplar Street P. O. Box 225 Elizabethtown PA 17022.
