Darlene F. Berchin, 67, of Manheim passed away on Thursday, February 15, 2018 at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. Born in Bentleyville, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Maryann Latavic Berchin. She was married to Deanna L. Elliott and they would have celebrated their 4th wedding anniversary in July. A teacher for 35 years, Darlene taught Biology at McCaskey High School. She was a member of St. Philip the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, Lancaster where she was involved with the music department. Darlene also sang with the group “Spirit In Song” at various nursing homes. Music was her passion and she also loved animals.
Surviving in addition to Deanna, is a sister, Denise wife of John Quayle of Washington, two nieces and a nephew.
There will be a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Philip the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, 2111 Millersville Pike, Lancaster on Friday, February 23, 2018 at 11:00 AM with Father Lawrence W. Sherdel as celebrant. Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 AM until the time of Mass. Interment will be private.
