Dale R. Wolfe, 83, of 1457 Jerry Lane Manheim died unexpectedly of natural causes at his home on Wednesday, January 6, 2010.
Born in Tower City, he was the son of the late Walter W. and Ruby V. Wolfe. For over thirty years Dale worked for the former Raymark Industries Manheim, previously he worked for ten years, for the former Dissinger and Connelly Plumbing Company Manheim. He served in the U.S. Navy on the U.S.S. Shadwell during World War II. Dale was the loving husband of Kathryn E. Summy Shelly Wolfe and they observed their 59th wedding anniversary in October 2009. He attended Jerusalem Church Manheim and was a life long member of the Elstonville Sportsmen Association. Dale was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed spending time at the family cabin located in Perry County. He and his wife enjoyed visiting Roots Country Market in Manheim every Tuesday.
Surviving in addition to his wife is a daughter, Glenda L. wife of Jack Gantz of Denver, a stepson, Theodore S. husband of Sandra Shelly of Elizabethtown, a stepdaughter, Judy S. wife of Larry R. Roth of Lititz, two grandchildren, six step grandchildren, three great grandchildren, fourteen step great grandchildren, a brother, Dewey Wolfe of Lititz, and a sister, Doris Heilman of Lebanon. He was preceded in death by a brother William and a sister Alice.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his funeral service from the Buch Funeral Home 21 Market Square Manheim on Saturday, January 9, 2010 at 10:30 AM with the Reverend Alan J. Yudt officiating. Interment is in Penryn Cemetery Penn Township. There will be a public viewing at the funeral home on Saturday morning from 9:30 AM until the time of the service.
