D. Ernest Weinhold

D. Ernest Weinhold, 89, of Manheim, went home to be with his Lord on Monday, March 23, 2015. Born in Ephrata, he was the son of the late Daniel R. and Martha E. Landis Weinhold. He was the loving husband of Evaleen Ranck Weinhold and they would have celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary in July. Ernest retired as a self-employed house painter. He previously worked at the former IGA, Landisville and the former Mosemann’s Grocery, Manheim. Ernest was a member of Kauffman Mennonite Church, Manheim and he served with the Civilian Public Service in Virginia during WW II. Ernest loved to spend time with his family. He also enjoyed local history, genealogy, and amateur radio.
Surviving in addition to his wife are four children, Daniel G. husband of Beverly Palm Weinhold of Lancaster, Marta Weinhold of Manheim, Allayne wife of Bruce J. Byram of Denver, Ralph husband of Sandra Boll Weinhold of Mount Joy, seven grandchildren, Dayna wife of Jonathan Reidenouer, Darcy Weinhold, Danelle wife of Joseph Fernandez, Darren Weinhold, Katelyn Byram, Kelly Weinhold, Casarah Weinhold, five great-grandchildren and a sister, Esther Gehman of Ephrata. He was preceded in death by a brother, John Weinhold and a sister, Edith Keener.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his funeral service at Kauffman Mennonite Church, 1355 Lancaster Road, Manheim on Monday, March 30, 2015 at 10:00 AM. Interment in the adjoining church cemetery. There will be a public viewing at the church on Sunday from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM and again at the church on Monday morning from 9:00 AM until the time of service.
