Cornelia "Connee" Sampson

Cornelia R. “Connee” Sampson, 96, formerly of Alexandria VA, McKeesport PA, and Oakland MD, passed away on March 15, 2018 at Masonic Village, Elizabethtown, PA where she had been a resident. Born in New York City, NY she was the daughter of the late, David and Agnes Negri. Cornelia was the loving wife of the late Thomas Newton Sampson. She worked for Alexandria, VA and McKeesport, PA school districts as a secretary. Cornelia enjoyed bowling, gardening, knitting, crocheting and reading.

Surviving are four children, Anne Christine wife of Charles Morris of Falls Church, VA, Thomas N. “Skip” Sampson II of Fayetteville, NC, Kathy Marie wife of Daryl George of Laurel, MD, Crystal Sampson wife of Joseph Belsher of Augusta, MO, nineteen grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren and a sister, Agnes Oppel of East Meadow, NY. In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by a grandson, Demetri Sampson and a sister, Anne Dragone, and infant sister Gladys.

Funeral services were held at the John Sell Memorial Chapel, Elizabethtown on Monday, March 19, 2018 at 12:00 noon. Interment will be in Lake Ford Cemetery, Oakland, MD. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent in Cornelia’s memory to the Masonic Village at Elizabethtown for the Arline M. Hughes Caring Endowment Fund c/o Office of Gift Planning, One Masonic Drive, Elizabethtown PA 17022
