Colin T. Kahler, 27, formerly of Columbia, died unexpectedly at his home in York on Sunday, October 19, 2014. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of Thomas R. and Cynthia McKonly Kahler. Colin was a 2005 graduate of Manheim Central High School, and a 2010 graduate of Penn State University receiving a Bachelor of Science Degree in Information Science Technology. He was an Information Technology Administrator at the Wagman Companies Inc., York. Colin attended Hempfield United Methodist Church, Lancaster. He had a passion for politics and philosophy; he was indeed a “Seeker of the Truth”. Colin loved the outdoors and enjoyed hiking whenever he had the opportunity. Colin had a kind and gentle heart, and was an advocate for those who found themselves homeless, hungry, and in need of help in the world.
Surviving in addition to his parents, is a son, Dylan Thomas Kahler, a sister, Erin K. wife of Greg S. Farmer of Manheim, a brother, Jonathan R. husband of Jessica Kahler, of Lancaster, two nieces: Maeve and Lucinda Kahler, maternal grandmother, Fay Fisher McKonly of Lancaster, paternal grandmother, Mary L. Kahler of Lancaster, a companion, Ginger Clutter of York, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Colin’s Service of Remembrance at the Church of the Apostles United Church of Christ, 1850 Marietta Avenue, Lancaster, on Friday, October 24, 2014 at 11:00 AM. There will be a viewing at the church on Friday morning from 9:30 AM until the time of the service. Interment will be in Silver Spring Cemetery.
