Clyde E. Petticoffer, 81, of Maytown, and formerly of Lititz, died peacefully on Wednesday, April 3, 2024 at the Hershey Medical Center. Born in Lititz, he was the son of the late Edgar and Frances Keener Petticoffer. Clyde was the loving husband of Edna Wiggins Petticoffer and they observed their 57th wedding anniversary in February of this year. He was a 1960 graduate of Warwick High School. Following graduation from high school, Clyde started working for Farmers First Bank in Lititz; and continued his education taking banking courses from the American Banking Institute. He rose through the ranks at the bank during his 40 years of service, becoming Purchasing Officer as the bank went through mergers and became Susquehanna Bank during his employment. A proud veteran, Clyde served in the U.S. Army stationed stateside during the Vietnam War. He was an active and faithful member of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, Lititz; where he was a member of the Senior Choir, and the Senior Shepherds that created toys for children in the Church’s wood shop. Both Clyde and Edna enjoyed bowling and he participated in the local church bowling league over the years. Clyde had a deep passion for his family, and he cherished all the time he could spend with his wife, children, and grandchildren.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Edna, is a daughter, Michelle P. wife of H. Philip Myers Jr. of Marietta, a son, Mark E. husband of Roni Axe Petticoffer of Lititz, five grandchildren, and a brother, Russell Petticoffer of Ephrata. Preceding him in death is a sister, Phyllis Weaver and a brother, Harold Petticoffer.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Clyde’s memorial service from the Buch Funeral Home, 216 South Broad Street, Lititz, on Thursday, April 11, 2024 at 12:30 PM. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home on Thursday from 11:30 AM until the time of the service. Interment immediately following the service will be at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
