Clyde M. Buchen, 88, of Manheim, passed away at his home on Sunday, September 17, 2017. Born in Farmersville, he was the son of the late Benjamin and Ella Moyer Buchen. Clyde was the loving husband of Janet Ranck Buchen and they had observed their 67th wedding anniversary the day before his passing. He was an active and faithful member of Neffsville Mennonite Church for over 54 years. Clyde was passionate about farming and had farmed in the Penryn and Manheim area for over 41 years. He was a member of Lancaster County Farmers Association, Lancaster County and National Holstein Association, and the Green Laurel Hunting Club. In his later years Clyde drove tour bus for Executive Coach, worked for several Courier Services, and provided transportation service for Amish in the Lancaster County area.
Surviving in addition to his wife Janet, are two sons: Burnell husband of Carol Buchen, of Lititz, Gary husband of Kim Buchen, of Manheim, two daughters: Debra wife of David Lintern, of Branford, CT, Sheri wife of Ed Wagaman, of Littlestown, ten grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, and three sisters: Ruth Brubaker, of Lititz, Reba wife of Richard Metzler, of Manheim, and Rachel wife of Loren Stichter, of Warsaw, IN.
Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Interment will be at East Petersburg Mennonite Cemetery. In lieu of flowers those desiring may send contributions in Clyde’s memory to Neffsville Mennonite Church Renovation Fund, 2371 Lititz Pike, Lancaster, PA 17601.
