Claude H. Sites, 86, of Manheim, died peacefully on Friday, November 30, 2018 at Hospice and Community Care, Mount Joy. Born in Sporting Hill, he was the son of the late Levi and Louise Horst Sites. Claude was the loving husband of the late Geraldine R. Burkey Sites who died in October of 1998. For over 20 years he worked in the maintenance department for the PA Turnpike; previously, he was a Licensed Barber and was the owner and operator for over 30 years of his own Barber Shop in Lancaster City. A veteran, Claude served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Claude attended Lititz United Methodist Church, and throughout his life was dedicated to his work, and his family. He loved taking trips and striking up friendly conversations to anyone he would meet. His passion was reading the daily newspaper and watching “Court TV” especially the show Hot Bench.
Surviving is a daughter, Karen E. wife of Ron Daugherty, of Manheim, a son, Mark W. husband of Karen Sites of Manheim, two granddaughters: Jessica Butzer, Jennifer Madonna, and two great grandchildren. Claude will be lovingly missed by his girlfriend of 20 years, Patricia Wagner of Lititz. Preceding him in death are three brothers: Donald, Elwood, and Woody Sites.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Claude’s funeral service at the Buch Funeral Home, 21 Market Square, Manheim, on Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at 2:00 PM. There will be a viewing at the funeral home on Tuesday afternoon from 1:00 PM until the time of the service. Interment will be in Hernley Mennonite Cemetery, Manheim. Please omit flowers.
