Clara M. Myers, 97, formerly of Shelly Road, Manheim, died peacefully on Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at the Mount Hope Nazarene Retirement Community, Manheim. Born in Elizabethtown, she was the daughter of the late Harry E. Sr. and Ella Greiner Dyer. She was the loving wife of the late George “Ed” Myers, who passed away in 1992.
Clara retired in 1981 from Donegal Industries, where she worked as a seamstress for many years.
She had a true love of cats and cared for the many that were fortunate enough to find a home with her. Her hobbies included sewing, baking, playing bingo, reading, and word search puzzles.
Clara is survived by her five daughters: Patricia, wife of Orval Shelly, Barbara Wagner, Linda, wife of Robert Lefever, Lana, wife of Jay Livengood, Rosene, wife of Dennis Balmer, all of Manheim; three sons: Harold “Bud” Myers, of Lititz, Barry, husband of Jean Myers, of Manheim, Ricky Myers, of Manheim; 17 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; one brother, Harry Dyer Jr, Elizabethtown, and two sisters, Anna Geib and Dorothy Gantz, both of Manheim. Preceding her in death are two sons: Edwin and Dale Myers; three brothers: Edwin, Jay and David Dyer; and two sisters: Eleanor Nauman and Martha Brosey.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Clara’s funeral service at the Buch Funeral Home, 21 Market Square, Manheim, on Thursday, May 26, 2016 at 11:00 AM. There will be a viewing at the funeral home on Thursday morning from 9:30 AM until the time of the service. Interment will be in East Fairview Church of the Brethren Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Contributions may be sent in Clara’s memory to the Mount Hope Nazarene Retirement Community, 3026 Mount Hope Home Road, Manheim, PA 17545.
