Charles R. Snyder, 87, of Manheim, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at Pleasant View Retirement Community, Manheim. Born in Tremont, PA, he was the son of the late Harry S. and Fern B. Miller Snyder. He was the loving husband of Leona G. Damron Snyder, and they celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary in July of last year. Charlie was the Machine Shop Manager for the Fuller Company, Manheim, retiring after 40 years, and also worked at the Manheim Auto Auction. He served in the U. S. Army during WWII. He was a member of Ruhl’s United Methodist Church, Manheim, and served on the stewardship committee in his early years. He had a passion for woodworking, and his other interests included golf, boating and fishing.
Surviving in addition to his wife is a son, Charles R., Jr. husband of Pamela Snyder of Lake Mary, FL, two granddaughters, Gretchen and Erika, and five great grandsons. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Peggy Ann Snyder.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his funeral service at the Buch Funeral Home, 21 Market Square, Manheim, PA on Saturday March 16, 2013 at 10:30 AM. Interment will be in Ruhl’s United Methodist Church Cemetery, Rapho Township. There will be a public viewing on Saturday morning at the funeral home from 9:30 AM until the time of the service.
