Charles C. “Pete” Love, 87, of East Petersburg, died peacefully, surrounded by his family on Saturday, February 14, 2015 at the Lancaster General Hospital. His death resulted from a fall in his home on Friday. Born in Blairs Mills PA, he was the son of the late Mae Gipe. Pete was the loving husband of Janet (Civitts) Love and they would have observed their 68th wedding anniversary on February 24th. For many years Pete was employed as a machine operator for Alumax, Lancaster, working there until his retirement. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Pete had a passion for CB Radio. His interests included: hunting, fishing and traveling overseas with his wife. He will be truly missed by his constant companion, a Bichon dog named Nikki.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Janet, are three sons: Robert C. Love of Baltimore, MD., William D. husband of Carol Love of Manheim, Ronald C. husband of Bibiana Love of Lakeport, CA., two daughters: Bonnie M. McComsey of Mount Joy, Patty A. wife of Dennis Rupp of Williamsport, six grandchildren, and three great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by a sister, Louise Wagner.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Pete’s funeral service at the Buch Funeral Home, 21 Market Square, Manheim, on Friday, February 20, 2015 at 2:00 PM. There will be a viewing on Friday afternoon at the funeral home from 1:00 PM until the time of the service. Interment will be in East Petersburg Mennonite Cemetery.
