Carole Lee Miller, 79, of Elizabethtown, formerly of York passed away on Sunday, May 26, 2013 at the Masonic Village Health Care Center, Elizabethtown. Born in Lewistown, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Lois Aurand Bott. She was the loving wife of James J. Miller and they would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in December. Carole retired as an accounts receivable clerk at Rutter’s Farm Stores in the York area. She was a member of Grove Memorial United Methodist Church, Lewistown where she was active in the church choir and she was a former member of Calvary United Methodist Church, York where she was a children’s Sunday school teacher. Carole was also a Girl Scout leader in York area and enjoyed making homemade bread for the York fair where she won several prizes. Her interests included reading, cooking, baking and traveling. She and her husband spent ten years traveling in a motor home.
Surviving in addition to her husband are three daughters, Kathleen A. wife of David Smith, Cindy J. wife of Clarence Saxman both of York and Holly J. wife of Dyson Johnson of Delmar, Maryland, two grandchildren, Cory Grove and Crystal Saxman, one great granddaughter, Alyssa Payne and a sister, Diane Nale of Milroy.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her memorial service at the John S. Sell Memorial Chapel, One Masonic Drive, Elizabethtown on Thursday, May 30, 2013 at 2:00 PM. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family in Suburban Memorial Gardens, Dover. Friends may visit with the family immediately following the service. Please omit flowers.
