Carl I. Sinner, 89 of Manheim, formerly of Elizabethtown, passed away Wednesday July 5, 2017 at Lancaster General Hospital after a brief illness. Born in East Berlin, Adams Co. Carl was the son of the late William and Elsie (Baer) Sinner. He was the loving husband of Evelyn Lefever Sinner and they celebrated 64 years of marriage. He proudly served in the United States Army. Carl was a teacher at the Middletown School district for 14 years and later worked in administration where he was the Federal Program Coordinator before retiring. Carl was a graduate of Shippensburg University, and McDaniel College, Westminster MD where he received his M.AEd. He was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist, Elizabethtown where he was a former choir member and Sunday School Teacher. After retiring Carl greatly enjoyed volunteering his time for the Lancaster Chamber of Commerce, and the Elizabethtown Food Bank. In his earlier years, he enjoyed playing his trumpet with a band.
Surviving in addition to his wife is a son, Stephen C. husband of Gina Sinner of Palm Springs, CA. Two daughters, Carol wife of Michael McHugh of Shrewsbury, Vicki Sinner of Millerstown, four grandchildren Timothy & Scott Sinner, Michael & Kevin McHugh, and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by two infant brothers and three sisters.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Carl’s memorial service at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, 398 N Locust Street, Elizabethtown, PA 17022 on Saturday July 8, 2017 at 10:30 AM. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
