C Kendig Rohrer

October 26, 1929 — January 31, 2010

C. Kendig Rohrer, 80, of Manheim, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Sunday, January 31, 2010 at Hospice of Lancaster County, Mount Joy. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Clayton G. and B. Verna Kendig Rohrer. He was the husband of Kathryn Kitty Huber Rohrer and they celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary on December 8, 2009. A lifelong chicken farmer, Kendig also worked as a machinist for the Fuller Company, Manheim where he was also Union President. He was a salesman for Garden Spot Motor Company New and Used Cars and owner of C. Kendig Rohrers Used Car and Truck Sales Kendig also had his Real Estate license. He was a member of East Petersburg Mennonite Church. Kendig attended the Lincoln Elementary School, Mount Joy and Lancaster Mennonite School. His interests included cars, camping, collectibles, Nascar racing, traveling; especially to his cabin in Juniata County and most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family.

Surviving in addition to his wife are four children, Arlene H. wife of J. Robert Zimmerman, James H. husband of Sue Anne Elliott Rohrer, Carl H. husband of Roberta J. Groff Rohrer all of Manheim, Kathy H. wife of Kenneth R. Leaman of Lancaster; nine grandchildren, Briana S. wife of Nathaniel L. Baum, Brittany A., J. Austin, Renee A., Stephanie M. and Adam K. Rohrer, Katelyn A. and Kyle D. Leaman and Alecia I. Rohrer; daughter-in-law, Patti A. Whitcomb Rohrer of Lancaster. He was preceded in death by a son, Paul H. Rohrer, twin granddaughters, Kelsey E. and Kayla E. Rohrer and a brother, Robert K. Rohrer.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his funeral service at East Petersburg Mennonite Church 6279 Main Street East Petersburg, PA on Saturday, February 6, 2010 at 10:30 AM with Pastors K. Eugene Forrey, Glen M. Sell and Bill Blank officiating. Interment in the adjoining church cemetery. There will be a public viewing at the church on Friday evening from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM and again on Saturday morning from 9:30 AM until the time of service. Please omit flowers.
