Bonnie Sue Goshen

Bonnie Sue Gilbert Goshen, MSN, RN-BC, CRNP-BC, of Lancaster passed away at home on Saturday, October 5, 2024 at the age of 79. Born in Greensboro, NC, she was the daughter of the late Bobby E. and Bernita Nancy (Ocker) Gilbert. She was the loving wife of David E. Goshen for 58 years. Also survived by a son, Robert D. “Rob” husband of Tracey Goshen of Marietta, four grandchildren: Jordan, Michael, Matthew, and Mitchell, one great-grandchild, Gannett, a sister, Karen wife of Richard Reed, and two brothers Randall husband of Sharon Gilbert and Ronald husband of Karen Daub.

Bonnie received her Registered Nurse degree from St. Joseph Hospital School of Nursing in Lancaster and worked at that hospital for several years before working in the Student Health Center at Millersville University. She continued her education at Millersville University to obtain a BSN and then went to Villanova University to earn Master Degree in Nursing Administration. Bonnie also continuing her education at Millersville University where she received (CRNP) Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner Degree with Family Nurse Practitioner Post-Master’s Certification. She Retired as Nurse Supervisor/CRNP after thirty-one years at Millersville Student Health Center.

During her career she received the Dean Lovett Award presented by the American College Health Asso. for outstanding contributions to the development and direction of a college health program. She was a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing and was awarded “Excellence in Nursing Practice.” She was also a member of (PNA) PA Nurses Asso. and the Academy of Nurse Practitioners. As president of Collage Health Nurses Assoc., Bonnie helped negotiate several contracts for State University College Health Nurses.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Bonnie’s Memorial Service at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 500 Pearl Street, Lancaster on Saturday, October 26, 2024 at 11:00 AM. Friends may visit with the family at the church on Saturday morning from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Additional parking at Wheatland Middle School and a shuttle bus will be provided.
