Blaine A. Wingert, 96, of Manheim passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Saturday, October 13, 2018 at Pleasant View Retirement Community, Manheim. Born in Chambersburg, he was the son of the late Milton and Clara Garber Wingert. He was the loving husband of Anna Martha Wolgemuth Wingert and they celebrated their 71st wedding anniversary this past March. A lifelong farmer, Blaine operated his farm in Rapho Township. Following retirement, he drove truck for DHIA. He was a member of Manheim Brethren In Christ Church, Manheim where he served in various positions at the church. Blaine also volunteered for the Mount Joy Gift & Thrift. With a deep faith in God, he enjoyed traveling and loved to spend time with his family.
Surviving in addition to his wife are four daughters; Doris wife of Richard Imhoff of Goodfield, Illinois, Sharon wife of Willis Diffendall of Lititz, Marlene wife of Robert Locker of Manheim and Joyce wife of Jeffrey Hertz of Kempton; five grandchildren, five great grandchildren and two brothers, Avery Wingert of Chambersburg and Gerald Wingert of Mechanicsburg. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Wanda Wingert, three sisters; Pearl Hostetter, Verda Wolgemuth and Helen Gruber and four brothers; Chester, Gilmore, Laban and Raymond Wingert.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Blaine’s Celebration Service at Manheim Brethren In Christ Church, 54 North Penryn Road, Manheim on Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at 11:00 AM. Friends may visit with the family immediately following the service. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may send contributions in Blaine’s memory to Pleasant View Retirement Community, Benevolent Care Endowment Fund, 544 North Penryn Road, Manheim, PA 17545.
