Betty M. Greiner, 87, of Manheim, passed away at home on Friday, March 18, 2016. Born in Elizabethtown, she was the daughter of the late Alvin and Edna Koser Heisey. A member of the Hempfield United Methodist Church, Betty was a warm and caring person who welcomed everyone she met with a hug. Betty’s passion in life was her flower garden and each year she looked forward to spring and planting flowers. Her other hobbies included needlework and cross stitching. Betty retired from Stauffer’s of Kissel Hill in Lititz, where she worked for over twenty years. She enjoyed volunteering at the Nearly Nu Thrift Shop in Manheim.
Betty will be greatly missed by her four children, Judy, wife of James Ecenrode, Lititz, Charles, husband of Ada Heistand Greiner, Manheim, Patricia Eshelman, Columbia, Rodney Greiner, Schuylkill Haven; six grandchildren, Sheri, Tina, Josh, Amy, Adam and Alicia; four great grandchildren, Briona, Brianna, Joey and Mackenzie; brother, Richard, husband of Ethel Heisey, Mount Joy; and sisters, Ellen Wolgemuth, Mount Joy and Nancy, wife of Kenneth Erisman, Elizabethtown. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers, Leroy and Charles Heisey and sisters, Mary Sweigart and Anna Martha Yeatts.
Family and friends are respectfully invited to a Memorial Service for Betty at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 24, 2016 at the Hempfield United Methodist Church, 3050 Marietta Ave., Lancaster, preceded by a visitation from 10:00 a.m.to 11:00 a.m.
Interment will be held privately at the convenience of the family in East Fairview Brethren Cemetery, Manheim. Donations in memory of Betty may be made to Hospice & Community Care, P.O. Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604-4125.
