Betty C. Baker, 98, of Luther Acres, passed away on July 31, 2015. Born in Watsontown, she was the daughter of the late J. Donald and Margaret (Ranck) Bryson and the oldest of ten children. She was preceded in death by her high school sweetheart and husband of 59 years, the late Floyd C. Baker, who passed away in 1999.

She was a graduate of the Bryn Mawr Hospital School of Nursing and in earlier years worked as a private duty nurse.

Betty lived in Lancaster near Grace Lutheran Church, where she was a long time member and was active in the social ministry, women’s groups and volunteered at Crispus Attucks.

Known for her outgoing personality, she enjoyed spending time on the phone and would stay after church talking with friends. She enjoyed talking and laughing with her niece Ginger Fisher, who visited with her every day and visits from Rosey, the Luther Acres dog.

Betty will be greatly missed by her son, Neil Baker, husband of Lolita, Blue Grass, IA; daughter, Marie Bucher, wife of Paul, Manheim; sister, Maxine Huffman, Dewart; brother, Joseph Bryson, Lititz; nine grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren, one great great grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her brothers, Donald, Robert, William and Richard Bryson and sisters, Elsie Fisher, Jean Young, and Doris Donachy.

Family and Friends are invited to a Memorial Service for Betty in the Community Room at Luther Acres, 600 E. Main St., Lititz, on Wednesday August 5th at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Conestoga Memorial Park.
