Benjamin W. Rose Sr., 77, of Lititz, and formerly of Manheim, died Saturday, December 26, 2015 at the Lancaster General Hospital. Born in Princess Anne County, Virginia, he was the son of the late Tilton Lee and Catherine Waterfield Rose. For over 20 years Ben worked for Manheim Borough as the manager of the water treatment plant. He was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Manheim. In his early years, Ben played semi-pro football and was a member of the Lebanon Rams. For many years Ben coached in the Manheim area through the youth football program with the Manheim Athletic Association. Ben also had a passion for music and was a member of the “Spirits of Blue Grass Band” that played many events locally. His other interests were camping, and rooting for his favorite football team the Dallas Cowboys.
Surviving is a daughter, Beth Ann Rose of Manheim, two granddaughters: Ariel Seachrist, Trinity Becker, a brother, Willard husband of Wanda Rose of Searcy, AR., and a sister, Pinky Rose of Stockton, CA. He will be lovingly missed by his friend Judith Paul. Preceding him in death is a son, Benjamin W. Rose Jr.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Ben’s graveside service at Steinmetz Cemetery, Steinmetz Road, West Cocalico Township, on Monday, January 4, 2016 at 11:00 AM.
