Austin N. Barber, 17, of Manheim was embraced in his Lord's arms on Saturday, August 13, 2011 at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. Born in Lancaster, he was the loving son of Shane B. and Angela "Angi" Collins Barber of Manheim. Austin was an 11th grade student at Manheim Central High School and enjoyed participating in the talent shows at the school. He had a life-long passion for writing and he enjoyed writing stories and songs. He attended Manheim Brethren in Christ Church and was active in the Junior and Senior High Youth programs at the church. He had an interest in fishing and hunting and he enjoyed those activities with his father and his Pap. Austin had an engaging personality and could easily make friends with people of all ages from adults to young children. He loved life and the new possibilities and adventures each day would bring. Surviving in addition to his parents are two brothers: Damon Collins companion of Shannon Kraft of Hershey, Chance Barber at Home, maternal grandparents, John and Joanne Collins of Manheim, paternal grandparents, Larry and Angee Chance of Blanchard, OK., maternal great grandfather, Paul Nauman of Manheim, and maternal great grandmother, Jean Collins of Elizabethtown, and a uncle, Jon husband of Shannon Collins of Manheim. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his service of remembrance and celebration at the Manheim Brethren in Christ Church, 54 North Penryn Road, Manheim, on Saturday, August 20, 2011 at 10:30 AM. Interment is in East Fairview Church of The Brethren Cemetery, Rapho Township. There will be a viewing at the church on Friday evening from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM with additional viewing time on Saturday morning from 9:30 AM until the time of the service.
