Audree Augusta Brown, 90 passed away on Thursday, December 21, 2023
at her home in Pleasant View Retirement Community, Manheim, PA. She
was born at Flushing Hospital in Queens, New York to Pauline and Andrew
Breidenbach.
Audree graduated in June 1951 from Bayside High School and went on to
graduate from the Interboro Institute Language Secretarial School in New
York City. Upon graduation, she was a secretary at Prince Matchabelli until
1955.
Audree is survived by her loving husband Bradford (Bud) J. Brown. They
were married for 69 wonderful years filled with family, friends, adventures,
and traveling. In 1956, Audree and Bud moved their family to Long Island,
NY. They briefly lived in Arkansas in 1977 and moved to Mendham, New
Jersey in 1978. She was a devoted wife, stay-at-home mom, and
community volunteer.
Audree was thrilled to become a first-time grandmother in 1985. She
absolutely loved being a grandma and great-grandma to her ten
grandchildren and six great-grandchildren and was overjoyed every time a
new baby came along. Sleepovers, family get-togethers, special occasions
where she was often found dancing to New York, New York, and trips to
Disney and Turks and Caicos are memories her family will always cherish.
Audree loved games and it would not be a party unless we played Flinch, a
game her adult grandchildren still play today.
Audree and Bud retired to North Carolina in 1998 where they built their
dream house in St. James Plantation on the 16 th green. They enjoyed
playing golf and entertaining family and friends. Audree always enjoyed
singing in the choir and volunteering at church. She was a wonderful wife,
mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.
In addition to her husband Bud, she is survived by her loving children:
Melissa Arena (Frank); Lizabeth Gensheimer; Christopher Brown (Michele);
Peter Brown (Marie); brother, Andrew Breidenbach (Stella); grandchildren,
CJ (Kristie), Erik, Kurt (Kayleigh), and Todd Gensheimer; Alex and Aidan
Brown, Paul Sessa (Margo); Megan, Ryan and Sarah Brown;
great-grandchildren Charlie, Joseph and Christopher Gensheimer; Maddie,
Wyatt and Baby Girl (March 2024) Gensheimer; niece Katie (Carlos),
Victoria and Patrick Ciruelos.
She was loved dearly by many and her devoted husband kissed her every
day until her last. She was blessed and she knew it. She will be missed.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to make donations in Audree’s
memory to the Alzheimer's Association or Cookies for Kids' Cancer .
