Aubrey Keith Bauknight, 86, formerly of Woodcrest Villa, Lancaster, and Manheim, passed away at the Mennonite Home, on Wednesday, October 29, 2014. Born in Wauchula, FL; he was the son of the late Aubrey C. and M. Thelma McNeal Bauknight. Aubrey was the loving husband of Dolores Winters Bauknight and they would have observed their 66th wedding anniversary on November 20th. Aubrey retired as a representative of the Pennsylvania Service Station Dealers Association after having owned and operated service stations for 23 years. Previously Aubrey owned and operated the ESSO Service Station in East Petersburg and the SUNOCO Service Station located across from Park City, Lancaster. Aubrey also served in the Naval Reserves. He was an active and faithful member of the Salem United Methodist Church, Manheim, were he served in his early years teaching Sunday school, choir member, Sunday School Superintendent, and grounds maintenance. Aubrey enjoyed travel and had a passion and love for the game of golf which he passed on to his children; but his biggest delight was being with his family.
Surviving in addition to his wife, is a daughter, Carol Sue wife of Timothy Miller of Carlisle, two sons, Steven Keith husband of Theresa Yost Bauknight of Harrisburg, Dean Scott husband of Rebecca Billet Bauknight of Landisville, seven grandchildren, two great granddaughters, a sister, Billie Kathryn Husz of Fort Myers, FL., and a brother, Jack Bauknight of Myakka City, FL. Preceding him in death is a sister, Nina Lou Alonzo.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Aubrey’s funeral service at the Salem United Methodist Church, 140 North Penn Street, Manheim, on Friday, November 7, 2014 at 2:00 PM. There will be a viewing at the church on Friday afternoon from 1:00 PM until the time of the service. Interment will be in Hernley Mennonite Cemetery, Rapho Township.
