Arthur Ray Williams, Sr., 85, of Mount Joy, died peacefully surrounded by his family on Wednesday February 27, 2013 at Hospice and Community Care, Mount Joy. He was the husband of Maxie (Billips) Williams and they celebrated 56 years of marriage in August 2012. Born in Belfry, KY, he was the son of the late John E. and Carrie (Arney) Williams. Arthur was a fabricator at the former Fruehauf Trucking of Middletown, and prior to this he was a coal miner. Arthur proudly served his country has a PFC with USMC during WW II and the Korean Conflict. He was past commander of VFW Post 5752 of Mount Joy, past president of Union Local # 488 of the Allied Industrial Workers of Middletown, and was of the protestant faith. Arthur was an avid gardener with a passion for his vegetable and flower gardens. His grandchildren will always have a special place in his heart.
Surviving in addition to his wife is a daughter Teresa wife of Duane E. Lehman of Manheim and their children Kristyn, Jason, and Travis; a son Jeffery husband of Lisa Williams of Mount Joy and their children Alina and Crissy Lynn; daughter in-law Eileen Williams of East Petersburg wife of the late son Arthur Ray Williams, Jr. who died in 2010, and their children Timothy, Robert and David; six great-grandchildren; a brother Lloyd E. husband of Ruby Williams of Bluefield, VA; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and son he was preceded in death by eight brothers, and two sisters.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his funeral service at the Buch Funeral Home, 21 W. Main St. Mount Joy, PA on Tuesday March 5, 2013 at 1:00 PM. Interment will be in Manheim Fairview Cemetery. There will be a public viewing on Tuesday at the funeral home from 12:00 noon until the time of the service.
