Arthur Nelson Keller, 96, of Lancaster and formerly of Lititz, died peacefully on Sunday, September 4, 2016 at Hospice and Community Care, Mount Joy. Born in Lititz, he was the son of the late William G. and Margie Nelson Keller.
In 1965 Arthur retired from Moore Dairy of Lancaster; previously he was employed at the former Walter W. Moyer Company, Ephrata. A U.S. Army veteran, Arthur served in the European Theater during World War II. He was a 1938 graduate of Lititz High School and he received an Associate’s Degree from Lancaster Business School in 1940.
Arthur was a member of Trinity Evangelical Congregational Church, Lititz. He had a life-long passion for books. Arthur was an avid reader and known book collector; and was one of the founding members of the Great Books Club of Lancaster. He had a keen interest in politics and would discuss political events of the day with his friends. He enjoyed his time at the Lancaster Senior Citizens Center.
Surviving is a sister, Annetta Work of Strasburg; a nephew, William husband of Carolyn Work of Elkridge, MD.; two nieces: Beverly, wife of Frank Brown of New Providence, Barbara, wife of Joseph Nickel of Quarryville, and many grand nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death is a brother, Alfred Keller.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Arthur’s funeral service at the Buch-Heisey Funeral Home, 216 South Broad Street, Lititz, on Friday, September 9, 2016 at 12:00 Noon. There will be a viewing on Friday morning from 11:00 AM until the time of the service. Interment will be in Trinity Evangelical Cemetery, Lititz.
