Anna Mary Shelly, 88, of Manheim, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 31, 2014 at Hospice and Community Care, Mount Joy. Born in Manheim Township, she was the daughter of the late George Ober and Mary Smith Ober Fulkrod. A homemaker, Anna Mary was the loving wife of the late Daniel S. Shelly who died in January of 2009. Earlier in her life Anna Mary worked for the former Travis Mills in Lititz. She was a member of Ruhl’s United Methodist Church for over 50 years. Anna Mary’s interests included crocheting and flower gardening. She had a life-long passion for her family and enjoyed participating in many family activities.
Surviving is a son, Ray D. husband of Brenda Ament Shelly of Mount Joy, a daughter, Diane L. wife of the Reverend Dr. Richard J. Rimert Jr. of Conestoga, four grandchildren, two step grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and three step great grandchildren, four sisters: Jane Herr of Manheim, Sarah Miller of Maryland, Betty wife of James Lentz of Ephrata, Blanche Minshell of Schenectady, N.Y., four brothers: George Ober of Manheim, Jacob husband of Miriam Ober of Conestoga, Wayne husband of Arlene Ober of Lancaster, and Robert husband of Joyce Fulkrod of Manheim. Preceding her in death was a brother, Phares Ober, three sisters: Catherine Weidman, Helen Oberholtzer, Leah Ebersole, and one granddaughter.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her funeral service at the Ruhl’s United Methodist Church, 4810 Elizabethtown Road, Manheim, on Sunday, June 8, 2014 at 4:00 PM. There will be a viewing at the church on Sunday afternoon from 2:30 PM until the time of the service. Interment will be in the adjoining church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent in Anna Mary’s memory to Ruhl’s United Methodist Church, 4810 Elizabethtown Road, Manheim, PA 17545 or Hospice and Community Care, P. O.
