Anna Mae Rose, 85, of Manheim passed away on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at Hospice & Community Care, Mount Joy. Born in Salem, Illinois, she was the daughter of the late Robert W. and Sylvia Boyles Warden. She was the wife of the late Harlan W. Rose Sr. who died in 2000. Anna retired as a nurses aide at Moravian Manor, Lititz. She also worked for Mount Hope Nazarene Retirement Community, Pleasant View Retirement Community both in Manheim and for the Manheim Central School District as a cafeteria worker. Anna was a former member of Salem United Methodist Church, Manheim. She was also a member of the Lanco Micro-Midget Club where she ran the concession stand for several years and the Manheim VFW Ladies Auxiliary and former American Legion. In her earlier years, she volunteered at the Nearly Nu Thrift Shop and Manheim Meals on Wheels. Anna was also a former Brownie Leader, Cub Scout Den Mother and enjoyed helping with the Girl Scouts. She volunteered for the Manheim Ambulance Association, Transport Team and Water Street Rescue Mission, Lancaster. Her interests included flower gardening, collecting elephants and salt and pepper shakers.
Surviving are three children, Kathi Jo wife of William Robinson of Jonestown, Harlan W. Jr. husband of Linda Caswell Rose and Steven W. Rose both of Manheim, two grandchildren, Shannon and Kelly Rose. She was preceded in death by a sister, Norma Jean Ryan and a brother, Robert Warden Jr.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her funeral service at the Buch Funeral Home, 21 Market Square, Manheim on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at 11:00 AM. There will be a public viewing from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Interment in Manheim Fairview Cemetery, Penn Township.
