Anna Mae "Maisie" Hollinger, 91, of Manheim died peacefully following a lengthy illness on Sunday, January 15, 2012 at the Pleasant View Retirement Community Manheim. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Roy H. and Anna G. Herr Miller. She received a Bachelor's in Elementary Education from West Chester State Teachers College. In 1978 Maisie retired from the Manheim Central School District where she taught second grade at the Stiegel Elementary School for 25 years. She was the loving wife of Theodore H. Hollinger who died in September of 2010. She was a very active and faithful member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Manheim where she served as both Elder and Deacon on Consistory, member of the women's fellowship, taught Sunday school for 25 years, choir member, and a member of the Kappa Nu Sunday school class. A Bownie Girl Scout Leader in her early years she was active with the Penn Laurel Girl Scout Council. Other memberships included: Manheim Women's Club, Manheim American Legion Auxiliary, and a life member of the Manheim Historical Society. Maisie volunteered for the meals on wheels program and at the Nearly-Nu Thrift Shop all in Manheim. An avid reader she also enjoyed knitting. Maisie loved to travel to the Eastern Shore with her husband to attend wood carving shows of wood decoy ducks and shore birds and sample the seafood special cuisine especially the soft shell crabs. Surviving are two sons: Michael L. husband of Beverly Graybill Hollinger of Manheim, Bruce A. Hollinger of Lititz, two grandchildren, Douglas and Jennifer, four great grandsons, one great granddaughter, and a sister, Marian wife of Robert P. Miller of Manheim. Preceding her in death is a sister, Dorothy Stauffer. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her memorial service in the Hoffer Auditorium at Pleasant View Retirement Community 544 North Penryn Road, Manheim on Friday, January 20, 2012 at 2:00 PM. Interment will be private in St. Paul's United Church of Christ Memorial Garden. Friends may visit with the family in the Hoffer Auditorium on Friday afternoon from 1:00 PM until the time of the service. Please omit flowers.
