Anna M. Hershey Erwin, 78, of Manheim, died peacefully surrounded by family on Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at the Pleasant View Retirement Community. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Norbert and Anna M. Asper Flick. Anna was the loving wife of LeRoy “Hen” Erwin and they observed their 20th wedding anniversary in November, 2012. Her first husband, Richard G. Hershey, passed away in 1982. She was an active member of St. Richard Catholic Church, Manheim, and participated in the Women’s Club and the “Out to Lunch Bunch” at the church. She was a member of the Early Bird Walkers of the Walking Club of Ephrata. Anna’s interests included: home sewing, baking, cooking, and candy making. Anna enjoyed baking for every holiday and she loved giving her baked items away to friends and neighbors. She had a life-long passion for her family and enjoyed activities with her children and grandchildren.
Surviving in addition to her husband, are three daughters: Barbara wife of Ricky D. Crook of Newark, DE., Carol A. Missimer of Lancaster, Peggy A. wife of Michael Fischer of Lancaster, a step son, Michael G. husband of Nancy Erwin of Quakertown, three step daughters: Judy M. wife of Larry Garber of Lititz, Nancy J. Phleeger of Dallas, TX., Laura T. wife of Randy Smith of New Market, N.H., 8 grandsons, 4 great grandchildren, 5 step grandchildren, 5 step great grandchildren, and a sister, Margaret A. Flick of Leola. Preceding her in death is a son-in-law, Robert Missimer.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Richard Catholic Church 110 North Oak Street, Manheim, on Monday, May 20, 2013 at 11:00 AM with the Reverend Francis T. Menei as Celebrant. Interment is in St. Joseph New Catholic Cemetery, Lancaster. There will be a viewing at the church on Monday morning from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers contributions may be sent in Anna’s memory to St. Richard Catholic Church 110 North Oak Street, Manheim, PA 17545.
