Anna Mae Garman, 103, of Manheim, died peacefully on Wednesday, January 17, 2024 at Pleasant View Communities. Born in Manheim, she was the daughter of the late J. Roy and Marie Baker Hershey. Anna Mae was the loving wife of the late Martin B. Garman who died in June of 1984. Earlier in her life Anna Mae worked as a shoe inspector for the Batdorf Shoe Company, Lititz. She was a member of Salem Lutheran Church of Kissel Hill. Anna Mae served as a volunteer for Brethren Village Retirement Community, Lititz, Meals-On-Wheels Program, in the Lititz area, and helping with meals at the Brunnerville Fire Company. She lived a quiet life as a devoted homemaker, wife, mother, and grandmother; and cherished any time she could spend with her family.
Surviving are two daughters-in-law: Betty M. Garman of Lititz, Christa Garman of Roseburg, Oregon, five grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and four great great grandchildren. Preceding her in death are two sons: J. Richard “Dick” Garman, Roy D. Garman, and a sister, Betty Mutzer.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Anna Mae’s Celebration of Life Services at the Buch Funeral Home, 21 Market Square, Manheim, on Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at 10:30 AM. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home on Tuesday morning from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. Interment will be in East Fairview Church of the Brethren Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent in Anna Mae’s memory to Hospice and Community Care, 685 Good Drive, P.O. Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604-4125.
