Anna Florence Heisey, 103, of the Mennonite Home, 1520 Harrisburg Pike, Lancaster, passed on to heaven on Wednesday, September 28, 2016. Born in Manheim Township, she was the daughter of the late Harry Neff Frank and Bertha Landis Frank of East Petersburg.
She was the loving and caring wife of Menno W. Heisey with whom she shared 63 years of married life. He preceded her in death in 1997. They began farming in 1935 on Shenck Road, Manheim, and retired from farming in 1980.
She was a member of the East Petersburg Mennonite Church, and was a faithful Christian. She enjoyed life and was a caring and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother. She enjoyed playing the piano, puzzles, embroidering and sharing time and conversation with family and friends.
Surviving are three daughters: Miriam Leaman of Rohrerstown; Martha Heisey of Lancaster, Rachael, wife of James Pessolano of Smithfield, NC ; and a son Menno F., husband of Carolyn Erb Heisey of Cross Junction, VA; 10 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. A son, John preceded her in death in 1937 and a daughter, Esther preceded her in death in 2015.
The family is grateful for the kindness and caring support given by the staff of the Mennonite Home and the compassionate caring of Hospice and Community Care.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her memorial service at the Buch Funeral Home, 21 Market Square, Manheim, on Saturday, October 1, 2016 at 10:30 AM with Pastor Glen Sell officiating. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home on Saturday morning from 9:30 AM until the time of the service. Interment will be in the East Petersburg Mennonite Cemetery following the service.
